Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil–Review and Giveaway!

Updated 8/29/12–This giveaway is now closed. The winner is Dawn Tice–congratulations!

I love coconut oil! I have been cooking with it almost exclusively for about a year now, and I must say, it lends itself well to all things Indian.

Now, not all coconut oils are created equal. Some are overly processed and others have a rancid taste. Some are oilier, others are more coconutty, and still others maintain a delicate balance of texture, flavor, and scent. This last category fits Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil perfectly. It is lusciously silky, slightly coconutty, and all-around delicious.

I’ll be honest with you: Tropical Traditions did send me a complimentary jar of their Gold Label oil to try (see disclaimer below). I had been wanting to try some, but it is pretty expensive and I just couldn’t justify the price tag when I figured what I was currently using was just fine. Well, let me tell you, this stuff is amazing! The flavor and texture is far superior to any other brand I have tried. It has worked wonderfully in baked goods, coconut candy, and curries.

You get what you pay for, and the Tropical Traditions Gold Label Coconut Oil is definitely the best tasting, highest quality coconut oil I have ever used. It is processed by hand (no machinery, refining, no bleaching or deodorizing) in small batches on family-run farms, which makes it more expensive to produce, but also makes it better tasting and more nutrient-rich. For more about the wonders of Gold Label Coconut Oil, watch this.

Since I know you are dying to try this fantastic coconut oil, I am hosting my very first giveaway, generously sponsored by Tropical Traditions. The winner will receive a quart jar of Gold Label Coconut Oil sent to their home!

Tropical Traditions is America’s source for coconut oil. Their Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is hand crafted in small batches by family producers, and it is the highest quality coconut oil they offer. You can read more about how virgin coconut oil is different from other coconut oils on their website: What is Virgin Coconut Oil?

Tropical Traditions also carries other varieties of affordable high quality coconut oil. Visit their website to check on current sales, to learn about the many uses of coconut oil, and to read about all the advantages of buying coconut oil online. Since the FDA does not want us to discuss the health benefits of coconut oil on a page where it is being sold or given away, here is the best website to read about the health benefits of coconut oil.
